Who produces the best SCT tunes and Why you like them!!

OK, I am in the market for a couple good high power tunes for MPG and Fun, along with a great tow tune that can pull and shift like it's supposed to. Please post what tune you have:tu:, who it is from:humm:, and why you like it:rocking:.

I got my tunes from Eric @ Innovative Diesel. I got Extreme Tunes, Mileage tune and a Tow tune.
I would skip the mileage tune because I get better MPG in the Extreme tune if you take it easy on the skinny pedal. I love the Tow tune and its shift points. I pull a 10,000 pound trailer. Give Eric a call and explain what you are looking for and he will hook you up. :rocking:

That's a trick question. Very few people have tried them all to say what's really the best tuner. There's plenty of great tuners out there to buy from. Discuss with the tuner what you what out of the tuning, ask what options they have and pick one. I have run GOGO Diesel and Elite Diesel files with great results. Matt at Gearhead, Innovative Diesel, are also great choices.

I find that the tuner that responds to my requests for changes in the tuning is the better one to use. Sometimes you find the tranny isn't shifting to your liking or there is too much smoke out the pipe. If you can get them on the phone and make changes they will make me a customer.

Thanks Guys,:tu:

That is some great info. I guess my next homework assignment is to find out who and how many tuners there are out there so I can start making an educated guess on who to use for what.:humm:

There's quite a few so good luck with who you choose.

I've used Erics tunes primarily and started with him from the beginning. I did that based on what I read on the forums when I first bought my truck. I have since tried a few other tunes from other people and honestly I should have just stuck with Eric. No one has gotten back to me as fast as he has, and he will email new tunes in a heartbeat.

I have extreme street, extreme race, aggressive tow, and economy. Economy is a waste IMO, like already said the extreme tunes are the best mileage. The aggressive tow is just flat out awesome. I tow a 21' camper that is probably around 5k lbs and I have towed a dump trailer with stone upwards of 7k lbs (not a lot compared to what some guys do) and the transmission shifting on that tune is second to none as far as I'm concerned.

I am still wanting to try Matt @ Gearheads tunes.

everytime i did it i put the truck back to stock and then uploaded another tune, not sure if that is how you are suppose to do it or not but it worked for me

i run innovative tunes because Adam at first coast diesel performance talked me into them, seems to be well liked, but matt at gearhead and gogo seem to be some good names and a lot of people run their stuff

Mdub707 09-06-2010 11:10 PM

No need to go back to stock before changing tunes. The last tune loaded will just overwrite whatever else was there.

swampkilie 09-07-2010 06:41 AM

thats my problem it won't allow me to load new tune . i can get a check on the tune but then it just ask me if i'm done i click that it tells me to go back and i end up where i started??????
