'03 6.0L Problems, HELP!

Have an 2003 F-350 6.0L, been having trouble for awhile now. Was running rough, now it won't run at all. It started when a friend was on his way home and the truck lost power, he floored it and it did nothing. There was no turbo whistle and the truck barly accelerated, then as he let off the throttle, the truck died. Towed home and let it sit and it started rough then smoothed out, but then died the same way as on the highway. Checked with a scanner and found some codes. P132B-Turbo/Supercharger boost control A, P0269 cylinder 3 contribution or balance malfunction, P0272 cylinder 4 contribution or balance malfuction, P0401 Insufficent egr flow detected, P2290 Injector control pressure to low, P2291 Injector control pressure to low engine cranking. Cleared all codes truck fired up ok, but alittle rough, then ran for 20 minutes and died and now it won't start at all. It just clicks now. Getting alittle upset. :dang: HELP PLEASE!!

If it just click the batterys are too low to start it. What is the ICP while cranking?

Snowman 07-27-2010 08:50 PM

it wont even crank. i think i need to replace the batteries. they wont even take a charge.

so i got the batteries replaced. Now the truck just cranks and won't start. The ICP during cranking is 548PSI and the ICP Volts are 0.84V. No codes have come back, but a new one has popped up. P0603 Internal control module KAM malfunction.:humm:

Try searching on this board for those codes, someone else just had the exact same issues about a month ago. I remember those codes. My guess is the ICP sensor is bad.

thats what i was thinking, but just wasn't to sure. Thanks for your help.

The KAM code is due to the PCM having no power to it during the batter swap, It should go away,

open up the little cover on the FICM and with a volt meter measure the voltage output of the power supply. DO NOT SHORT ANY OF THE PINS TO THE CASE!

If it is a 7 Pin FICM then you need to have + 48 volts on the pin closest to the turbo with the key in the on position NOT STARTED!

If it is a 4 Pin FICM then you need to have + 48 volts on the pin closest to the driver's fender with the key in the on position NOT STARTED!

If you have less that 48 volts then your FICM is at falt and needs either repaired or replaced.

so it still wont start....:argh: So i finally got a good scanner and this is what i got:
Sitting ICP volts 0.16, FICM Volts 47.42-47.92 (it would fluctuate:humm:), Vehicle volts 12.48.
Now when i cank for 30 seconds this is what i get:
ICP PSI 355.34-427.42psi, FICM volts 37.42-40.90, Vehicle volts 10.48.

Now from what i've been reading on the forums and talking with people i sounds like the FICM is shot and so is the IPR. Can it be that they are both shot????:humm:
Oh ya and before i started to crank it over i decided to check for codes one more time and i got a P0046. I also did a injector buzz test, and only heard 7 buzzes not eight and the it gave me: P0282, P0264, P0267, P0270, P0273, P0276, P0279, P0282. Now what the *@$% is going on!!! I'm getting tired of this truck and its not even mine!!:argh::argh: PLEASE HELP!!!!!!

newman 08-13-2010 07:32 PM

Holy bajeevers thats a lot of codes. The ICP is to low to start and it loooks like the FICM is shot too...
