2005 F250 powerstroke, intruducing me

Hey guys, i'm a newbie so be nice. Just found this site and wanted to say hi. My name comes from i'm a member of "Planet sand", a drag bike racing site. so to keep it simple i kept the same name,, I dont race my truck.lol.. however i did just finish the dreaded egr cooler and oil cooler game,, my ford dealer screwed me over. I took the truck to them while in warranty and they found nothing wrong. Two weeks out of warranty they find my 3900.00 problem. Lucky for me i found someone to fix it in my yard for way less. I have a 6" lift with 35s under it. I want to go with a bigger tire,, how big you guy suggest?.. also maybe a 5" exhaust, straight thru with nothing in the way..lol... any other thoughts. Oh i do have a programmer but nothing like you guys,,just the super chip. Ok,, enough about me,, yall take care..

:hi::hi: Glad to have you aboard.

37's are a lot bigger than 35's so you'd probably need more lift. My buddy is running 6.5" front and 8" rear on his 05 crew cab, and he's running 37x12.5x17 on a 17x9 rim and he gets some rubbing in the front.

Superchips is garbage and will do more harm than a high horsepower custom tune. The superchips also does nothing for your trans (despite what the box might say...). Look into an SCT with custom tuning. I prefer Eric from Innovative Diesel. You can call them up and he will hook you up with everything you'd need.

Exhausts you can get almost anywhere. Straight piped 6.0's sound wicked. Where are you located? Do you want stainless exhaust or will aluminized work for you? If you're down by the dunes (south) you probably dont need stainless, but it does look nice.

Sucks about your dealer... get the superchips off, it's only going to happen again, or worse. You might want to look into a full EGR delete setup and some gauges to monitor everything going on as well!

Welcome aboard!:c:

man, thanks so much for your reply. To be honest in the last few days of looking online i was thinking about the "SCT",,, sounds like good. As far as the exhaust, doesnt have to be stainless, but my main next question,, is there any way to measure how much lift I already have,, remember, coils on the front,, its easy to measure the rear but seems like the lift guys used the stock blocks (if there is such a thing) along with another 4" block. Again, thanks so much. About the SCT... is that a safe toy,, seems like i'm reading about nightmares involving head gaskets as well as the egr gloom and doom.

Headgaskets go on stock trucks so honestly it's hard to say. Some guys run extreme race tunes all day every day and have no issues... personally if you're worried about it, I'd get just a mild street tune. If you call Innovative Eric will explain it all to you. Definitely go custom though, your trans will thank you.

You have a 250, so it already sits lower than a 350, just FYI. I put 2.5" leveling blocks on the front of my 250 and did the 350 rear blocks (350 blocks are 3 5/8" and 250 are 2 1/2"). You could probably fit 37's, but it will probably rub a little bit. Maybe some trimming and you'd be ok.

Whatever you choose, do NOT stack blocks. If you want to go higher than where you're at, do springs in the rear. Reading your post again, it sounds like you already have blocks stacked right? Take that off, it's VERY dangerous. If you have to get new springs for the rear, go ahead and just get the correct lift size you want. You can fit 35's no problem with a leveling kit and 350 blocks.

Dont forget tire width will make a difference, but the biggest thing is the wheel width and the wheel backspacing, those will make the biggest difference as to what fits and what rubs.

thanks guys or all your help. I know a tire guy that may have a used 37 laying around. gonna get him to stick in on my stock wheels and give it a try. I know wont be the same and my wheels now but it will be something for comparison,, thanks again
