Well troubles again

I have a few problems that came about in the last few weeks that I am hoping are related. Seems that I have alot more oil appearing around my intercooler boot coming off the turbo and is collecting in the valley. I am loosing coolant even more out the degas cap. I have a loss of power. And last but not least my spool time has gotten alot worse. Even when I got my foot in it, It no longer cleans out after a few seconds. It will leave coal untill I let up. I am thinking it might be HG's for the loss of power and coolant problems, But scratching my head about the turbo lag and oil. I am not pulling any codes with my SCT. Any ideals?

i'm thinking maybe a seal in the turbo is going out causing the oil to gather in your intercooler boot. As for the loss of power and losing coolant i'm betting headgaskets are shot.

There is oil in the charge air cooler (or intercooler) lines because the vent from the left valve cover goes into the air inlet, to the turbo, then the charge air cooler, and finally the manifold elbow. ALL 6-ohs do this unless you re-direct this blow-by somewhere else.

The oil appearing around the boot exiting the turbo is most likely caused by said oil having soaked it and the boost is pushing the oil through the rubber. If oil can get through, so can air, or boost. Therefore, and I am just speculating here, the loss of boost not matching the fuel sprayed could be causing an excessively rich situation, ie black smoke. Then loss of power.

So, if that boot feels soft and spongy, replace it, see what that does. From there, I would replace the other 3.

I'm not sure if that is the issue or if I am "making the numbers fit", but it makes sense to me that way.

Definitely inspect all of your boots closely.

How many miles do you have, what mods do you have, and what do you use the truck for primarily?

I never thought about that Karl. It is pretty soft and limpy. I will get another on and see if that solves it. It just caught my attention because in only the last 2 weeks it has started to collect in the vally. Way more than usual. And M dub I just rolled 180,000. I am running sct with ericks tunes. I have shimmed the fuel regulator, and Straight piped

I had some oil under my turbo and they found the hose had a hole in it. It would be very hard to see because it is where the clamp is. After it was replaced all the oil cleared up and now there is not ant in that area at all.

Yall were right on! I pulled 2 of the 4 boots and they were cracked on the inside and out. Waiting for the international house to open up to get all new ones.

Hope you're ready for the stick shock of those parts. I was lucky and had mine replaced under warranty. I think 1 hose was $86.
