Sounds like stuck turbo vanes to me. There is a cleaning procedure you can do yourself.

With under 30K on my turbo, I'll stick my head in the sand and say that the lag is the inhereint part of owning a 6.0L. However, should I get around to an EGR delete, I'll do it then.

The bulletin said that if you're 03 has the 06E17 recall the VGT learn procedure will need to be preformed. Anyone know what this procedure is, or how to tell if 06E17 has been incorporated into my early '03?

Excessive idling, and slow drivers only compound the problems with the stuck vanes. The 07 turbos have a groove or ring machined in to prevent buildup of this issue, but I bet it still happens.

Especially with guys who never tow... like me. Never really get a good load on the motor. My skinny pedal and me are best friends. My rear tires don't like me so much though.

I'm on my 4th set of tires and I just rolled 63k miles. I'd say I keep her cleaned out pretty well.
