Egr delete kit

Hey yall, I've recently been looking at purchasing the EGR delete kit from mkm. It's a $300 complete delete kit. My question is for those of you who have done this yourselves and those who paid some one to do it. I've looked over the install instructions a couple times and it seems like it may become a head ache. I'm no mechanic, but I try to do as much as I can when it comes to my truck so that I have a better understanding as to how everything works. I change my own oil and fuel filters, installed aftermarket exhaust, and a few other minor things. My question is, is it worth the money to pay someone to do this or should I just grit my teeth and do the install myself?

If you've done an exhaust install you can handle this. It's not difficult. Go for it! It's just time consuming. Just be patient. A second set of hands will be invaluable.

im 100% for doing it yourself but for me i never have time between school and work so when i do it im going to pay someone to do it. that will save me having to figure out how to do everything. also it will save the the worry of sittin their all day wondering if i did it right or messed it up.

There is nothing complicated about it at all, it is time consuming though. If you can't do this I wouldn't recommend changing your own fuel filters.:w2:

If I can find the time I'm gonna do the install myself. Thnx for the advice.

No problem, don't be afraid it's really not difficult at all and most of the kits come with great instructions.

I put one on my 04 Went smooth took about 8 hours. The worst was the u-pipe bolts were hard to break loose. While you have it down replace the turbo drain pipe, about 30 bucks, and get a turbo kit around 10 bucks.

Where do you recommend I get the turbo drain pipe and turbo kit?

just get your kit from River City Diesel. look at MKMs "sinister diesel" kit and look at joshs kit. theres only a few things that are the same.. how strange that it looks like they just copied RCD's kit. Dont go with the cheap imitation, do what I did, and GO WITH THE BEST. RIVER CITY DIESEL.
