Does anyone know anyone that will work on a ford 6.0 besides a ford dealership near Huntington, WV? i have a oil leak and need someone to fix it.

ask Diesel pap. He runs mighty diesel and knows folks all over WV

What oil leak do you have? Every 6.0 I've seen has the infamous "wet bellhousing".
you are correct the bellhousing is soaked. i put dye in my engine oil to see where it is coming from and still cant tell. i dont think it is a rear main cause it looks to be wet on both sides of the bellhousing above the rear main. i think it just puddles up in middle and looks like rear main is leaking.
I too have the wet bellhousing but its not dripping and doesn't leave any oil on my driveway, its just that; its wet, so I havn't worried about it. Just out of curiosity whats the cause of this?
u know any common places this oil could be coming from?
not a clue. like i say mines just wet, its not dripping and my levels never seem down so i've never really worried about it or paid much attention to it.
oil will drip in my driveway. i can let engine idle and with in 15 mins the bottom of bellhousing will be dripping with oil. if i drive truck down the road oil blows all over transmission. so i know i have a problem somewhere. anyone know what a ford garage charges an hour to work on stuff?
mine has it too and the only thing i can think of is it's finding its way down there for filling it after oil change and spilling it. i've looked and looked and can't find where it comes from. been like that since shortly after i bought it bran new. i have 207,000 on itand it's never left a some in the drive way. it's a mystery

IF you have an early model 03/04 the ICP sensor is located behind the back side of the turbo (right side looking at fire wall). There is a high likelyhood the ICP sensor is leaking and running down either OR both sides. It ends up at the cover to your bell housing underneath. Later models had the ICP sensor moved out on the side for easier access. |
