Glow Plug Bad
Hey All,
Check engine light came on the other day. Plugged in the tuner and it said i have bad glow plug (number six). An independant diesel shop near me said they would fix it for $115 P&L, or because i still have a few months on the warranty left, i could take it to the dealer, but they want a $100 deductible so cost wise it's sort of a wash. How hard are these things to change? I'm not a mechanic, but i know how to change a light bulb. Any advice? :w2: thanks, as always. |
Well if you take it in for warranty work you get a warranty for the work and part. just pay the $100.

Yeah.....didn't really think of that. There's just something fundamentally wrong with giving the dealer a hundred bucks.:argh:
|
So how hard is it to change a glow plug? What do they cost?
|
Is changing a glow plug like changing a spark plug? Might be a stupid question. But you think DIESEL and it just seems more complex.

The 6.0 glow plugs are easy to change 30min tops all 8 go right through the wheel well I would just go buy the new ones for 75 bux and change the in your drive way :tu:

Good. Thats just what i was wanting to hear. Thanks.
