Battery Light

Well the oldman's truck battery light keeps on coming on every once in a while, he keeps on telling me to fix it, so well here i go :D

The truck has two brand new batteries swapped in not too long ago, but the battery light continues to come on every other time he drives it, it will only stay on for like a minute but it keeps on coming back and its annoying the crap out of him.

I tell him to take it to the dealer since its still under warranty, but whats going on, he thinks its the alternator.

Might be a loose connection for the light at the battery.

thanks, i will check for that tomorrow in the morning. The dealer did have to pull the motor out to replace the headgaskets, so it could have been damaged, i will check

I checked what i could see, and i could not see any chafed wires. i did not remove anything to check deeper into the engine bay.

idk

This looks like as good a place to ask this as any, My batteries in my 07 are not holding a charge, not even overnight, I have time, so whats the best battery to replace mine with? I have the dual battery setup.

could be a worn out belt and or a bad pulley or tensioner.

First, what dealer takes the motor out of the truck for headgasksets? What a waste of time! haha

Stumblefoot... they all have dual batteries bud.

I am a huge Optima fan as well. You can get them super cheap if you sign up for a year membership with the NHRDA you can get them at a STEAL. It's worth the cost of signing up.

well the truck is lifted, even if they pulled the cab they would have to be on a ladder to work on the engine :D
