6.0 smoke switch

Can anyone tell me how to hook up a smoke switch in my 6.0 so I can dump black smoke

antibullock 10-07-2009 08:51 AM

Cut the VGT solinoid wires and run a switch. its not worth it. your trucks going to run really poor and it could screw up your turbo pretty bad.

zfatjz 10-07-2009 10:31 AM

Which wires, where is the vgt solinoid

That is really funny. I guess since i drive my truck to and from work, the whole runs poorly thing would scare me. LMAO!

There are 2 wires coming off the front of your vgt <turbo> Cut either of the 2 wires coming off the harness and run a toggle to both sides of that wire. And now you know but I would listen to everybody on here when they say it is a bad ideal. I had one and my turbo lag doubled with it installed. It is cool but there are better ways to roll coal. And in my opinion The guys on here know there stuff, I would take the advice from a large number of people in agrence on a subject. :c:

Smoke = wasted fuel.

VGT not working = Turbo not making boost

Switching VGT Sol. off = CEL and DTC's

You can make it smoke by putting a plastic bag in the air filter inlet too, don't make it a good idea.

6.0 smoke switch

Hi i am looking for a way to roll a little coal but I’ve heard the smoke switch is pretty bad for the turbo got any other suggestions that could be done?

rubberfish 10-26-2019 09:30 AM

If you really want smoke the following have been suggested.
A plastic bag, or a ton of sand in the airbox. Both of which will cause irreversible engine damage.
May I suggest wrapping grandma's panties around the stock air filter instead.
