6.0L help for a cummins guy
 

alright guys i need to figure this out yesterday my dads 03 6.0 with around 114k started to roal white smoke and began to knock. have had no problems with it up to this point. the truck is 100% stock no aftermarket anything. i know the injectors are ran off of oil pressure but oil is good. could it possibly be an injector? or oil pump not supplyin enough oil so the injectors arnt firing right and the knock is from no oil supply? or could it be something with the egr valve. i have a 12v so the world of electronic diesels is somewhat out of my range. any help will be greatly appr.

is there any anti-freeze in the oil?

ill have him check but im guessing if it is its a head gasket?

bad oil cooler maybe?

or egr cooler, he tore into the egr system today and said everything looked clean so idk

If it looked clean, that's not good. Should be full of soot. Steam and coolant cleans that crap out really well.

Did it sound like a fuel knock? Was it using coolant?

# 4 injector was bad, new one and she was good to go

do you guys think a comp egr block would be worth gettin? i know these motors have tons of tunablity and potential once past some of the engineering defects. its bone stock:humm:
