Guess the FICM is on its last leg.

Woke up to go to school real early, the 250 wasn't feeling very well. Missing, long starts, choking, my CEL had been going on and off for a couple weeks now. My dealer told me it would be fine? So today i was almost stranded. Oh well, i got that big ol warranty, so i guess they'll tear it apart. But i'm kinda impressed with the 6.0 still. We had a 350 with the 7.3 and had more problems out of it in the early years< than i've had with the dreaded 6.0. Its an international, therfore its almost industructable. :)

Well it's fixed kids. Thank god.

heres the fixing that was done.
1. new FICM
2. 3 new Injectors

All at the low cost of nothing, thank god for warrantys,

3 injectors?

Did they do anything else? Ford gets really REALLY bent out of shape when they get a work order that just has injector replacement on it, without any sort of backing info of the root cause, be it lack of maintenance, low/negative fuel pressure, etc.

they said that the injectors failed due to the ficm problem... And because they turned me away from service a few times they went ahead and said it was their fault. Thats about all i know. Doesn't bother me much though, the 250 has never ran better. :)

Yep, a weak FICM can eat injectors up. Did you have battery problems lately?

jeremy_wittlock 10-02-2009 10:54 AM

well i did about 4 weeks ago, then i dropped two optima's in it and that was over.

There seems to be a connection between battery and alternator problems and the FICM failing soon after.

yeahh i've heard that. who knows though the computer stuff these days is enough to make you hang yourself lol
