Truck broke down and wont start
 
I was trucking down the road in my 2005 powerstroke 6.0 with my stock trailer and as I was coming to a stop sign the very moment I stepped on the break peddle A TBC Fault popped up on my digital display and the truck died like someone reach over and turned the key off and would not restart. As I looked into the situation farther I discovered that the Fuel cut-off switch had tripped along with the ABS fuse blowing and accordance to the owners manual the 30 amp block fuse for the electric seats blew as well. After resetting the fuel switch and replacing the fuses the engine will turn over all day long but will not fire. While trying to start the TBC Fault keeps popping up on display. I have a Blue Point ODB2 code scanner and it would not link up to the computer. I have a mechanic friend and he tried his Snap-on scanner and wouldnt link up Either. Ive changed the the high-pressure oil sensor and the cam sensor and still no go. Could this be a shorted ECM or if anyone has any ideas please help. Can't afford to keep throwing parts at it and most likely can't afford the dealership either. Please Help

Welcome to the site, glad ya found us. I moved your thread here where the right folks will see it. Wish I could help but I'm brainless on Fords, and most other things if you ask guys around here but it shouldn't take long for the resident experts to move in here and get you rollin again.:c:

might possibly be the quick disconect on the hpop line. if it starts leaking the truck will turn over and not start

ficm could be the problem, or crap in your fuel line or filters. make sure you are getting fuel to the banjo bolts that go in at the front of the heads. it's a starting point. ECM would be another possibilty. the o-rings on your oil rail plugs could also be bad but not likely to happen and cause to shut off like yours did, but that does cause a long crank no start.

the tbc fault is normal to pop when there is excessive crank time. cant explain why but it happens to me all the time. does the check engine light prove out when you turn the key on? is there power to the dlc check fuse. that fuse also powers the power point in the dash very common for it to blow. then you wont have communication with any scanners. can you hear the injectors cycle when your cranking? fuel filters wouldnt cause a no start that would be more like lacks power or running rough. being that it is an 05 the hpop quick connect and dummy plug d-rings are very common. really need to see what codes it has first or you will be chasing your tail.

I've found this to be a result of low battery voltage. The 08 trucks say "CHECK BRAKE SYSTEM" when this happens. (Mainly cause the starter draws about 4937238455434 amps)

But what Bronco said - see if there's any DTC's in it.

Change your FICM stands for Fuel Injectors Control Module on 05 and up are located on the back top of the valve cover on the driver side of engine earlier models are inside the driver side wheel fender . The FICM is like a computer controls your fuel and injectors to start the engine as well as icp sensor and the IPR sensor ,. just YouTube it. Will show you all the sensors and the FICM they all work together.
