hey guys Im thinkin about buying and 06 6.0 I currently drive a Dodge and have for the last 6 years but im thinking about changing it up a little bit and buying a Ford. I was just wondering if got one how reliable it would be Iv heard alot of horror story's about the them. I would put an EGR delete on it, a aftermarket oil cooler and head studs. What else do you have to do with them to make them reliable??:humm:

buy a Dmax to make it reliable :yeah:

/me NO BRAND BASHIN' !
What year are you looking for |
Probably around an 06 or 07, Im not interested in a Duramax, my dad has one and I dont really like it just personal preference I guess there isnt anything wrong with it I just dont like the body style

:U: Personally i wouldnt buy a new CTD with there fuel millage and the inabillity to modify them , not sure how that transfers over to FoMoCo but i do know that the PSD has crappy fuel milage to start with let alone new emmisions junk hanging off it , i would look for a couple years older and get away from the entire mess on all the big 3 until they get it figured out

Ya i wouldn't buy a new emission diesel such as a 6.7 cummins 6.4 powerstroke or new duramax I found an 2006 6.0L powerstroke thats in great shape with 50,000 miles for 23,000 I love the way that year of Ford looks just kinda worried about the powerplant

The later ones seem to be better than the earlier ones...but it is really hit and miss, egr, headgaskets, oil coolers seem to be the big things, all depends what your plans are and how your gonna BOMB the truck:humm:
|
I would stick with cummins.
|
i have a 07 and it is a 6.0 with out all the emissions garbage i have not had any problems with my truck except for the viens sticking in the turbo and i took it to ford and they warrantied it out for me only took them half a day to take care of it to and as far as the get a duramax comment i agree the body style is ugly and if you want a truck that your four wheel drive system isnt weak i would stay away from chevy straight axle is far better
