Hello, I am new to the forum and was wondering if anyone out there had any information they could send my way about 6.0 EGT's. I have an 06 Super Duty and I am running The Edge Juice Platinum w/ Attitude. I have a 4" MBRP cat back and True flow air filter.

My EGT's run in the high 800's to 900's on level 1 and that is not even with my foot in it. that is normal freeway cruise control @ 65-70 mph, heavens forbid I actually step on it or up the level.

So my question is, Is this normal?
Is there anything I can do to lower the temps and if so what?
What temp should it be running around?

I love all the power, but unless I can drop the temps, it is useless!

Any info or suggestions would be appreciated, anything other than get rid of the Ford and buy something else!!!

The True Flow is the air filter that was recommended to me by the people who installed my exhaust and performance controller. i have always been a K&N guy but I know there are other good ones out there.

I was told the 6.0 has a great stock air intake and all i would need is the air filter.

Yeah, I have been looking around trying to decide which one would be the best choice. I am just wondering if it will really drop enough to make a difference.

Theres a lot of good ones on the market , un oiled/ Surgical Cotton Would be best IMO , I think the only one out there like that is the Pro Guard 7 , Find a kit that uses this filter or ask the vendors

I will run right around 700* at 70 mph on level freeway with my truck not loaded, set on the 160 level of my Quad 160. With my box off, the temps will be almost 100* higher. Only thing I can come up with for the drop in temp is the advance in the timing.

Here are a couple shots of gauges at speed with my 13,300lbs 5th wheel behind me. There was a slight climb and a head wind at the time of these photos.

My truck has a Quad Xzillaraider 160, 3.5" Downpipe, 4" exhaust. Stock intake with a ZooDad mod.

Why your temps are so high, I don't know. Have you tried higher power levels? It may actually drop the temp as it advances the timing.

I'm not sure if it is the same as adjusting the timing but I have gone up and down on my power levels and The higher I go, the higher the temps. If that is not what you mean by adjusting the timing I am not sere how to do it or even if my module will do it. I am clueless when it come to this unit and did not know the questions to ask when I got it installed. And lucky for me the place I got it moved and wont respond to e-mails....Any more ideas?

I just did the "whole thing" to my 05 6.0, 4" exhaust, cold air intake, Banks intercooler, EGR delete, EGR cooler bypass, New head gaskets - ARP studs, my EGT's are 450 driving and up to 580 uphill heavy on the gas, Most of this is due to the egr cooler delete and egr bypass, Also the bigger cold air intake helps, Followed by the larger exhaust.
