Where to purchased OEM upgraded oil cooler

I purchased my 2003 6.0 6 years ago. Love the truck. When I first purchased the truck, it had 112K miles on it. I purchased a coolant filter kit, upgraded the FICM via ED with an atlas tune, EGR delete, VC9 Flush and new cat EC1 coolant, blue spring upgrade, and a new oil cooler. Turns out, I think I got a doorman oil cooler and the green gasket has fouled my IPR valve 4 times over the past 3 years. I keep finding tiny pieces of green gasket like material in my IPR screen https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/i...lies/frown.gif I found a youtube video where a guy stated that the green gaskets melt @ high temps and cause IPR problems. I'm Soooo mad at myself as I thought I researched correctly when I purchased the truck. Turns out, I should have purchased an OEM Upgraded oil cooler. I think I purchased a thoroughbred or a sinister oil cooler kit. I know the OEM gaskets are blue and the doorman's are green. I clearly remember my gasket being green https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/i...lies/frown.gif So, where can I get a fair priced OEM oil cooler kit?

Currently, I plan to fix my IPR and change the oil (and filter) with some inexpensive diesel oil as I only drive my truck 3-5K miles per year. I will put good synthetic oil in my truck in the spring when I do the new oil cooler. I doubt I will put 500-1000 miles on her by May.

Thanks for the help https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/i.../happy0161.gif

Get it from a Ford dealership.

AutoNation White Bear Lake is the best place to go IMO. $290

Part # 3C3Z-6A642-CA

You can order it on line or call and ask for Internet Sales 1-800-328-9552

In the future stay away from anything Dorman or from Sinister Diesel IMO. Doesn't take a lot of searching to understand why.

Thank you for the info! I had researched the bullet proofing about 6 years ago. I had a few friends who purchased the sinister diesel kit and I had heard nothing bad about them, only doorman. After recent bout of multiple IPR screen problems, I ran into a video that showed a doorman which specifically spoke to the green type oil cooler gasket and that these gaskets fail and break apart. I'm going to purchase a new oil cooler soon but will not have the time till March to change it out. I plan on fixing my IPR, changing the oil and then hope it will not give me any problems over the next 3 months......I might put 500 miles on it during that time.

Thanks again for the link to the oil cooler :)

So I have under 2K miles on this oil change. Should I change the oil since I got her running? I found two to three large pieces of green gasket material in the ICP valve and screen https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/i...lies/frown.gif https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/i...lies/frown.gif https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/i...lies/frown.gif

Personally, I would change the oil, but I know it isn't cheap. It is likely that even an oil change won't clear it all out since some can hang up on the screen below the oil cooler (even though no doubt that screen has a hole in it).

Thanks for the reply ;) Changed the oil and I plan on not driving my truck till I get the oil cooler. When I change the cooler again, I will change the oil for a second time for insurance.
