Long crank at normal tempreture
Hello: Thanks for opportunity to be part of your forum.
Name: Kenneth Leerdam I have a F250 6.0 2003 04 engine. Three years ago I change the following: both engine oil pressure pumps; right side fuel injectors. November 2017, I replaced the left side: injectors, FICM, and injectors wire harness. Two days ago I notice it started to give a long crank when hot but if I stop cranking and immediately try again it starts right away. The following condition I read off the scan gauge: ICP, key on 48 psi; engine running 640-736 idling. Note: I have the upgraded ICP sensor. IPR; 15-29 % and acceleration 33%. once about a fraction of second 55% during acceleration that burn tires. FICM: 48 volts key on and engine running 47-48. Please, if anyone experience something similar, could be so kind to share your remedy for said problem. Hope I address clear enough. Regards Kenneth Leerdam |
The most useful value for ICP is when you are cranking (hot) and it ISN"T starting.
Can you post that value (along with the % IPR duty cycle)? That said, it doesn't exactly have all the signs of a high pressure oil problem. Therefore, I would also watch the FICM MPower and LPower and VPower when the problem is showing itself. Lastly, if you don't have a fuel pressure gauge, I would get one. As our 6.0L's age, we see more and more fuel pump issues. You don't want to ruin expensive injectors because you don't catch the problem early enough. |
Hello Diesel Bombers.
I have f250 6.0 2003; I post the problem I was experiencing during hot start. This is my findings: at operating temperature when starting ICP sensor key on 640 psi no start. cycling the key approximately three times the pressure reduce to 49 psi; engine start immediately. Not sure if ICP sensor or pig tail is the problem. ICP was renewed November 2017. If anyone can relate to this problem I would like to get feed back on the above information. K leerdam |
