Ummmmm...this is a new one for me

Noticed this yesterday during my oil change.

This is the driver side at the seam where the head meets the block, passenger side is dry. I have tried to pinpoint where it is coming from to no avail. The picture may not show it well enough, but the areas between the exhaust ports are dry eliminating the possibility of a bad valve cover gaskets and it running down. The back of the head is dry as far as I can see so it doesn't seem to be coming from the valley which rules out the turbo drain and the HPOP. The banjo bolt is dry so I'm not thinking fuel, besides I haven't seen any fluctuation in pressure. I am 100% positive that it is not coolant, so I'm confident that it's not HG unless it compromised in such a way that the oil passages are seeping which doesn't make sense to me because then it wouldn't be on the exhaust side, it would be down into the lifter valley. The only other thing that I can think of is the PCV, but can it puke out that much? My 16qt catch pan was full enough to believe that the full 15qts had drained when I pulled the plug. I'm at a total loss here. Any thoughts?

Well...F#&*...MY...LIFE!!! Upon further inspection just now, I was unable to isolate the oil leak, but I'll be up close and personal with Big Dirty soon. Guess who gets to do head gaskets...AGAIN!!!!!

No clue what the deal is with the gunk, she had a VC-9 flush last time and has had CAT ELC ever since but wasn't able to pull the block drains and didn't pull the thermostat :argh::argh:, so it might've had some other $#!+ in the system still. Another set of Black Onyx bites the dust, how the :edit: are they still in business?

Looks like now I get to do a write up about doing HGs, gonna cruise around some of the other threads to see what I can do to make it a little easier. Definitely going to see if I can dig up that thread I saw on how to make a head lift bracket, my back can't take another round of pulling them the caveman way. Good thing it doesn't snow here so I can keep taking the bike to work.

:se::se:

Who knows, maybe y'all won't see me over here anymore because I'm gonna rip out the boat anchor and go Fummins
