New Turbo??
 

hey everybody, im new to the site here and was wondering if anyone has put a diferent turbo on their truck?? the reason i ask is becuase the stock variable vane sucks big time when you have a manual behind it. i was wondering how much of a headache it would be to slap a fixed with wastegate on my truck??? im just trying to find any way to make my truck be able to run a little closer to an automatic without spending 15 grand..:humm:

how about a new garret vvt turbo. they seem to work real good and make that 6.0 sound even more wicked

I have an Elite VGT-SS, and it's working great, so far. It should be even better after I get some bigger injectors on.

thanks for all the reponses guys im just trying to get away from the variable vane i dont know about the aftermarket ones but as far as the stock unit goes it sucks balls with a manual tranny sittin behind it!!!:booo:

I'll tell you one thing, you get the right vgt turbo with the right tune infront of that 6 speed and you wont beable to shift fast enough.

im all ears JON let me know what youve got in mind man because somethings gotta change!!!! i cant stand this anymore.

get rid of that banks shit-gun and get and sct with some healty tunes behind it!!! you will eventually end up needing a clutch....hehe like im running dj&vivians tunes from djs diesel
a good tune will get totally rid of that problem!!! trust me I sold my shit-gun to a kid that had a 6-speed and it did alittle better,, now he has a sct and we had to put a good clutch in it to hold it.....and it runs just as good as a auto

ya i been plannin on selling the 6 gun but just havent had time to get it posted on ebayyet. what sct program are you running????

Turbonetics turbos has some very nice turbos for the 6.0... They are all kits and not a drop in, but well worth the money. There is no drop in turbo for the 6.0 that is not VGT.

ya thats what i have been hearing i dont know how much of a pain in the @$$ it would be tp put in a whole kit??:humm:

Day long... Its not bad, and worth it.

im gonna have to talk to them and see what we can come up with the only thing that sucks is ive got the banks technicooler with the new boost tubes and high ram. im not to worried about the boost tubes and the high ram because i sell those pretty easily if i have to. but i really dont want to have to mess with takin that technicooler out again. but i defintly need to look into something cause this factory crap just aint workin thanks for the info man :U:

Your IC will be fine. The turbo kit will come with new Pipes.
