Unlock Engine 05 F350 6.0 with 148,000
Had a ford mechanic replace head gaskets bullet proof it and EGR less the engine about a month ago. Ran great till last evening appears 1 or more injectors stuck open - changed oil and put in 2 quarts of Hot Shot Stiction Eliminator. Started up smoking real bad but idled about 2 - 3 minutes then flooded. Let it sit for a few minutes - it started again, loaded up then some diesel fuel came out of exhaust into a bucket. Let it sit a little bit - started again and ran a couple of minutes. Tried to start 1 more time, it hit a couple time and then it seems to have locked up. How do I get it unlocked? I have heard taking out the glow plugs and relieving the pressure will do this.
Any help would be appreciated - hope I have not toasted the engine? Thanks Russ |
Managed to get the driver side glow plugs out and it now cranks so now comes the fun part trying to determine which injector is stuck. A lot of fuel sprayed out the front cylinder only. Is there anything I can put in the cylinders to possibly free the injectors?

You have to remove that injector and inspect it.
Dont try to crank up the engine again. You might get hydrolock. |
