07 F250 smoking and high EGTs
 
Not to long ago I did 190/100 Warren injectors w/ upgraded solenoids, MTW Madmax turbo, Thumper HPOP, FASS 125g, Sump kit, and regulated return. I got a revised tune from gearhead automotive and it loped and smoked. They have yet to reply to my emails or calls to fix the problem. So I got a new tune from Vivian. It smoked at while at 45mph to 65mph with EGTs at 1200* at 65. PHP gave me a tune smoke was reduced and EGTs dropped from 1200* to roughly 980-1000* at 65. Still smokes slowly taking off from a stoplight. Everyone says the Madmax turbo works great with 190/100s but I am starting to think differently. What else could cause the smoke other then tuning since they all think I have a problem else where. Hate driving it because its smoking on people :argh: any ideas?

Smoke is unburnt fuel, unburnt fuel needs more air. I say that as the tuning hasn't really cleaned up the smoke. Maybe get the tunes to dial back the fuel a tad bit more?

I know its fuel. Tuning wise each place is saying they have done what they can. I just talked to Adrian a little while ago. He said changing my gears to 4.30-4.56 should take away all the smoke and increase performance. Turning 38x15.5 put a good load on the motor.

Gears are a mechanical advantage not a performance part. If you can stand the higher RPMs at HWY speeds I guess a gear swap is in your future.
