Default 2007 F-350 6.0 bone stock just quit

Hello

New member here and long time diesel owner. I've had 9 of the 6.0 and have bought and sold hundreds of them and NEVER had this issue. Truck is bone stock, no mods, recent #2 Injector replaced when first purchased. Ran perfect up until today. Saw a lady in distress on the side of the road this morning, went to run the dogs, came back and she was there. So I pulled over and grabbed a chain to pull her out. Hooked up and drug her nearly out, but another vehicle was in the way so I stopped. A minute or so later I grabbed about a few inches of chain slack and gave her another yank, Truck just instantly DIED. Refused to fire back up. With terrible cell service I couldn't read all the forums on the side of the road, but I DID reset the emergency fuel shut off ( maybe I didn't reset ) but I did push it in. Disconnected batteries thinking it would reset if a code went off ( didn't scan it yet ). Needless to say 125 bucks in a tow fee back to the shop, and hours of tinkering around with fuses, I'm here asking for help. Anyone eve heard of this ?

Prior to this truck ran perfect, never missed a beat and again is BONE STOCK with 165k on the clock.

Truck acts like a fuel pump just quit, however I pulled the Fuel Filter on top of engine and it's plum full of fuel. I'm baffled.

Do you know anything of the history? Any repairs at all?

I bought it a few months ago from a guy that bought it brand new. He claimed the FICM was replaced recently but then he got into a bit of trouble and truck sat for 18 months. Fired right up when I got it but it did have a code for #2 injector misfire, so had that replaced, put about 300 miles on it since ( ran air out of lines etc ) and used it today, pulled that gal out as explained, then NOTHING.......... very strange. Does have an oil leak on the front casing of the motor. Right above the oil pan a few inches about I can see where it's leaking. Appears to be some sort of removable front cover behind the very bottom pulley.

Mechanic broke the dipstick when I had him do the injector swap, so I cannot check the oil. Since it's leaking above the actual pan has to be enough oil correct ?

I'd take the VIN to the dealer to check if the STC has been replaced. If the work was done at a dealer it would show up. Otherwise that's a starting point to verify.

i will bet it's the ipr took a crap.the windings in the ipr break down under heat and shut the truck down and will not re start till the truck cools down.i have had plenty of trucks do this.i will also say it could be an o ring in the top of an injector.i have had trucks come in and the metal ring in the top of the injector be missing and it goes to the bottom of the pan.most people do not try to get the ring out if it's in the bottom of the pan.well all i can is you get it out or deal with a front cover re pair from the metal ring cutting in to the cover.

you could have an o ring in the hpo rail going bad and that pressure from the rail shoots straight down on the top of the injector and it will chew away that oring.when it gets to that point the truck will shut down all this will happen out of no where.
