2005 F350 6.0 Rough idle

I have a 2005 F350 6.0 that I bought from norm smith auto sales in Bethany OK. I was promised to have any issues fixed by them and this was a lie so anyways the truck started smoking white smoke from the tail pipe and not just a little it was also leaking coolant out of it as well so I bought everything to do a EGR delete head gaskets and ARP head bolts I finally finished this project and now have it all back together took a while to get it started and after getting it running I let it idle a while it’s been a day or so of running it at an idle and its running really rough can’t quite seem to figure out what is causing it right before it went down it seemed to run alright and is why it has me kind of stumped I know all the work was done correct and is in good shape and the truck while run at idle all day just runs really rough just wondering if anyone has any ideas or any pointers it has been sitting a long time before all the work was done and I have only started trouble shooting but though there might be someone out there that has done this at had similar issues and could save me a lot of cash and time.

Sorry this is so long and drawn out but it’s been a long road Thanks for any help truly

Try driving it a little and see if it clears up. . .may have air in system causing issues. I would check fuel filters as sitting may have caused condensation in tank or algae can form in diesel .

I decided to drive it to and from work today and so far its doing alright still idles terrible and doesn’t run like it should but the big girl is trying! I did notice that as long as your foots to the floor it does really well and runs like it should but when you’re just doing the speed limit and the RPM's drop back down around a grand it is really rough and bouncy. my work is about 30 minutes from my house and mostly highway at around 70MPH hopefully I will get to drive around more after work and get a better feel for it. also I have been looking at programmers so I can plug up and better see how things are running and adjust to run smoother there are a lot of them out there and I’m having a hard time deciding what’s best for me I would like to be able to see as much as possible and adjust as much as possible I also noticed yesterday that no matter what happens to the truck it does not bring up a check engine light I know the light is working due to it lights up on startup but even with multiple wires unplugged trying to find the issue it never light up and hasn’t since I bought the truck I replaced the clutch fan a while back and it was over heating and even then it didn’t show I’m wondering if someone has deleted the codes and if so can these be replaced???

did you resurface the heads? and any check engine codes? other than that help much without running my scanner on it

could try unplugging icp and see if that helps

If you want diagnostic software try auto enginuity. It works with your laptop. If you want on the go monitor I got one from bulletproof diesel that shows most major functions, ficm volts and sync, charging volts, IPR , etc under $200. I would get sct for programming and tunes from reputable supplier. Innovative and gearhead come to mind. I'm close to innovative so I will try them soon. I had tough time keeping ahead of the bills for little while or it would be on there!
