6.0 oil temp high/oil cooler

Hello I have a 2004 6.0 with 110,000 miles, egr delete, turbo back and custom tunes from ID. Just recently i got an edge insight cts and noticed my coolant temp gets to about 180 when driving normal and oil temp gets to about 225. Just this weekend going through the mountains oil temp was getting to 240,not towing and about 50 degrees outside. Just did a coolant flush with ELC cat-ec1 and installed a coolant filter by sinister. Guessing its time for an oil cooler. Was wondering how long install would be for the oil cooler. Thanks!

What temps do you see when unloaded? ECT/EOT

If there was oil in your antifreeze then oil cooler is bad. I think the oil temp was i lil higher cause of going up and down hills motor working a lil harder

That is the temps i see when unloaded. 175 and 220 around town. 180 and 235 highway. There is no oil in my coolant but then again i have a coolant filter in the truck

Another way to tell if the oil cooler was bad. When mine went every so often antifreeze would blow out the over flow bottle not alot Lil bit every so often thought is was the heads at first had the heads done while in there they found that out was the oil cooler not the heads. Hope that helps

There hasn't been coolant seeping out or a lose of coolant. Had the heads checked and head gaskets replaced a couple months ago. Just the temperature is way to high and i don't think it's ever been replaced

Coolant and oil temp are only suppose to be ten degrees difference. Replace it and use fleetguard coolant with sca's or motorcraft gold er at least some water wetter with the cheap green s**t.

I just flushed and ran chemicals through the system and put in zerex ELC that is CAT-EC1 approved. Iam guessing my thermostat is out as well. I had my egr cooler go out a couple months ago so that dumped coolant in my system.

Replace the tstat or you will continue to see the temp splits.
