2004 F250 6.0 Fuel/Electronic problems

This one is very strange for me. My truck is all stock. I have only replaced a transmission sensor about 7 months ago and both batteries about a month ago. I recently had the check engine light come on and found it to be a glow plug going out. The battery light has also been on since the batteries went bad but did not go away after I replaced them. Since the check engine came on soon after, I wondered if they were a linked issue. I have not replaced any glow plugs and fear I have ruined my truck. I started it last night and it was knocking loud and then smoothed out. I assumed from the cold but I did not have it plugged in because it may have only barely dipped below freezing. I rolled down my window and back up and then down again before I left. My radio was not working, Odometer not displaying and window would not go back up. I got about 100 feet from my driveway and turned around because it was sputtering so bad. I am really at a loss here and do not have any experience with working on a diesel. :scare2:

Why new batteries? Are you absolutely sure your alternator is charging properly? These trucks systems are dependants on proper volts!

I would second adrenaline-junkie's post . I would get a load test on your altinator and go from there. Your post says your new to the diesel world. This advice right here will save you thousands on your 6.0 L .

Do your home when it comes to those things. Try and find a shop with a good rep. Or when a problem comes up do your home work . You can not just throw parts at 6.0 L and hope it fixes the problem that can get really expensive.
