06 6.0 white smoke on acceleration
I just recently bought this truck with 60k however it blows a ton of white smoke on acceleration. it doesn't lack power and it doesnt idle rough. some mornings it takes a little longer to start up but here in colorado springs it can get cold. also oil isnt low and neither is coolant. Once it is driven for about 10 minutes it stops blowing white smoke. any ideas?

Also I just went and smelled the exhaust it is sweet but I don't see any coolant loss. It isn't puking coolant either. Egr or oil cooler possibly?
|
Egr cooler probably
|
easiest way to tell is to pull the EGR valve and see if it is wet, if so then do an EGR delete and I would highly recommend rebuilding the oil cooler as clogged oil coolers are the real cause of ruptured EGR coolers. You can add a coolant filter after doing a coolant flush to prevent the new oil cooler from getting clogged again, If you let a clogged oil cooler go to long it can rupture and it is a mess to clean out of the motor and radiator

I will do that bobfbigman. Where is the egr valve. Its on the driver side in front of the coolant container right?
also what are possibilities of it being the HG or the heads themselves |
Yep, that happened to me 4 times in a span of about 2 years. Common issue with them darned 6.0's. Ever since I got rid of my PSD, my headaches went away...........thanks to the LEMON LAW. I sympathize with you bro.......

It'll all work out here soon. Egr delete new oil cooler and coolant filter are first. Then comes arp studs and new gaskets dummy plugs stand pipes upgraded fuel spring and some other things:argh:
|
Ya know those 6.0's run like a scalded ape when they run right and not breaking down. Its too bad ya gotta toss a bunch of money at them to get them to run right. But when they do, get the hell out of the damn way. I kinda miss that PSD I had. It was big and badass, when it wasnt on the back of a tow truck. :c: cheers
