03 6.0 powerstroke chugging

So heres the deal. I have a 2003 6.0 powerstroke and ive been having some problems with it lately. It seems to chug when you get up to highway speed(50-60). It is really bad when the motor is not completely warmed up and continues to chug somewhat when the motor is completely warm. I removed the egr valve and it was super dirty so i cleaned it up and reinstalled it. Havent gotten a chance to try it out yet. Anybody have any ideas why this could be happening? Could it be from a dirty egr? A local mechanic also suspected sticky injectors. Any help would be appreciated.

It also doesnt seem to have as much power as usual at wide open throttle. Once the turbo hits about 17-18 psi the power flattens out. Seems to me that the turbo was hittin about 24-25 psi before.

How many miles? Was intake clogged up too? How is your maintenance? Are there any mods? Oil is critical in these engines. First guess I bet u have stiction issues. . .hot shot secret is cheap way to begin if you can get some and try it. I see ads on banner at top of homepage lately. I know sounds crazy but the spool valves are extremely sensitive to dirt and buildup. That's easy way to get started.

Around 160,000 miles on the truck. It has an edge evolution. I have thought about trying hot shot secret or i also read about rev-x. Any idea how reliable these are? Also wondering if maybe cleaning the turbo might help the low boost. Not sure if it would help at all or if it is a different issue. Maybe it would help the chugging as well? Not too sure im new to the whole diesel world

Hot shot is a cleaner/ restorer, rev x is a lubricant. I used hot shot with success and use one rev x with each oil change. I also chose to use Rotella t 5-40 synthetic oil. That's what works for mine after stiction issues over 2 years ago. At about 130,000 miles mine stuttered really bad. I used hot shot and at 203,000 miles still running 7 original injectors. #8 went out and had to be replaced but rest are good so far! Cleaning turbo is good if it's sooted up too, and that could also be cause of your chugging. Additives are cheap and easy and if it solves problem and makes your truck run better why not? If $35 or $50 is gonna hurt you financially u need a cheaper truck! A fix if broken is going to be a lot more $$$$$$$ !
After 8 went out I learned about fuel systems and banjo bolts and blue spring, On this forum, thanks to some good advice. Most important is to figure out if truck is broken or just dirty. Dirty needs to be cleaned, broken needs to be fixed. Then you can enjoy your truck!

Thanks for all of the advice. Ill try to get some hot shot soon and try that out and possibly look at the turbo as well.
