out of options dont know what to do

Welp after a long time trying to determine the popping noise from my intake I have come to find out that the valve bridge and rocker assembly are broke and there is damage to the valve stem. Mechanic says theres a chance it could never cause an issue now that the problem is fixed but if valve pin falls in motor it will destroy it. I don't know what to do I don't have the 5000 dollars to have him fix it im just lost have no idea where to go from here. Any ideas would be great.

Ive also been driving it like this to and from work and nothing happened yet so...... I just don't know with my luck.

Does not sound to me like the problem is fixed. Or at least not properly and permanently fixed.

the valve bridge and rocker assembly were broke not sure about the pushrod but I don't know what to do about the valve he says it has some damage but I thought that the valve pin cant fall out

Why would the mechanic say there might still be a problem if he also claims to have fixed it? Sounds like a half-assed job where he fixed whatever he could real quick to get it running and make some fast cash without pulling the head and doing it all up right.

he didnt finish it yet he was in there to fix a pushrod and he found that and stopped asked me what i wanted to do and i dont have money to pay 5k to have heads removed ifk how much the valve stem is damaged

What was the mechanic's "recommendation?"

nikkos17 11-13-2013 03:08 PM

he said he would replace it due to the fact the rocker arm and valve bridge were broke. but i never had an issue with truck even with popping noise
