6.0 hard start when cold fires rite up when plugged in
Hello all. I have a customer f350 service truck 04 with 6.0. Long story short truck hard to cold takes about 5 to 10 min to start. Have snap on solus so I can see live data. When cranking everything checks out Ipc volts are correct Ipc psi is over 1000 when cranking ipr volts correct an ipr% 59 when cranking. Ficm also checks out at 48volts when cranking. So I that's where I'm at an need to know where to go from here. When cranking I can't see any smoke at all which makes think injectors aren't firing. But like I said if I plug it in it fires rite up runs a little rough then fine the rest of the day. Oh yeah truck has 203000 on the miles. Any help greatly appreciated thanks.:argh:

Sounds Like a glow plug or vc harness issue to me, I had a loose valve cover harness on two banks and had an issue with starting at any temp, once it was warmed up no issue but cold starts was terrible. I ordered motorcraft valve cover gaskets and injector/ glow plug harness's just to be safe for both sides and no issue after that.

maybe you should try the glow plugs

I had the same problem, changed to synthetic oil. Starts now at 20 degrees without being plugged in. Just a suggestion.(03 6.0)
