Oil in charge air cooler pipe
 

I have an 05 6.0. 102,000 miles on it. Garrett Turbo. Had the charge air cooler pipe off on the passenger side and noticed there was quite abit of oil in it. And some inside the turbo as well. My truck doesn't smoke. I had recent issue with turbo actuator not working because of bare wires grounding/shorting out. So I ran the truck (babied it) for about a week before I could dig into the other problem and fix it.
So I am wondering what the oil in the air cooler pipe(passenger side) means?
Any body know?

Every single 6.0 has oil in the cooler pipes, it is from the vent tube out o the drivers side valve cover to the intake tube right before the turbo, there is a MOD for eliminating that vent tube/ moving it so oil doesn't get into intake track

thanks for the info. at this risk of sounding like an idiot what is an MOD? and can you give me further direction on how to fix this vent tube issue? thanks.

MOD- Modification just look up the 6.0L section and you will find alot of information..

I just did the CCV mod. Basically, get a pvc plug at lowes. It's either a 3/4 inch or a 1 inch plug. Screw that into where the crank case vent tube plugs into the intake. Then, turn the hose that connects from the valve cover to the intake (the hole you just plugged) and turn it 180 deg. Now, go to lowes or an autopart store and get 12 feet of heater hose. Connect it to the crank case vent tube and run the heater hose under your frame rail to the front bed of your truck. Others have this hose venting into a coffee can with steel wool but I just vent to atmosphere.
