2004 F250 6 liter Branch tube Question

I have been troubleshooting a no start problem on my 6 liter. I narrowed it down to a hpo system problem. Using a scan gauge 2 I got readings of 48.5 volts FICM, 85% IPR , 47 psi ICP, 1 Sync.

This leased me to a leak or a bad hpop. (500psi needed for injectors to work)

On the stc fitting from the hpop to the rail, should it have play in it? Is there a oring in there? How do i release the tube?

Pump is a early 04, so it has the aluminum pump with iron cover, Not the Hpop fitting Kit one :)

I have removed and replaced many orings and seals in the system. Just want to make sure i dont miss one :)

thanks

it shouldn't have play in it while it is all hooked up, you can get they J shaped tube with the connector on it at Ford, also the orings in the top of the injectors can cause a HPoil leak as well as the the nipples on bottom of oil rails have orings that can fail.

J tube

Thanks for the reply :) The pipe is solid when all hooked up, Sorry for the lack of info in the post, I have pulled all injectors and done seals (including the dring seals in the top) The first time i had a hot no start it was one of those. I did a air test with the hpop cover on and off. with it on I got a small amount of air noise coming from the hole in the fron of the cover ( turbo drain i think), with it off there was a tiny bit also. I think it was from the air hose fitting actually. When i found the injector leak the first time, it was loud :)

So i think it actually might be the hpop. Hate to spend the $$ with out a way to test the pump. If a pump is needed, I will replace the IPR just for good measure.

Side note, I never thought I would miss my truck this much :) LOL

If you only saw 47psi I would say the pump is dead, it will build more then that even with a leak. Also keep in mind to have a good charger or even jumper cables on the bats. while trying to start it after this kind of work, it takes forever to get enough of the air out of the system for it to start.

Good point :) I will put the charger on it now :) Thanks a lot for your input!! Puts my mind at ease for a bit :)
