Overnight Crank/No Start

Well my truck ran just as good as it always has...yesterday. Got up today to move my truck so I could mow under it and what do you know, crank but no start.:mad3: Any ideas?

Weird....Went outside after the above the post and it kicked right off like it always does. Now I'm not so sure what to think or whether I can trust it if I go anywhere.

Update: Got in my truck to go and get lunch a little while ago. It cranked like it should and ran for about 15 sec, and then just died in its tracks like they key had been cut off. So, now I'm back to square one with the crank/no start.

Did you try to unload your programmer yet?

dlrobert95 07-12-2013 11:27 PM

I don't see it being the programmer because it's had that same one since '09, but I guess I can give it a shot.

Trucks also throwing a P2614 code.

What's all done to the truck? Could be losing the fuel prime, oil prime, many different things. Try cycling the key on for 30seconds, off, back on 30sec, off again and repeat. Make sure you have plenty of fuel

After looking up the code, looks like the cam sensor is going out/ already out

I'm thinking it's a failing sensor or wires chaffing in the harness going to the sensor because I've figured out that every time it won't start or dies, I can wiggle the wires on the sensor and it will start back up.

If you widely it and it starts it would be the wiring

I hope it's in the long pigtail going to the sensor or that could mean a $500 harness:sorry:

Found my problem. Cam sensor wires had bare spots rubbed in them that when touched together shut the engine off. I isolated the bare spots and taped them up so I should be good to go now! Thanks guys!:jump:
