new problem

had to change turbos replaced with good used one now i have what sounds like an exhaust leak, then after a couple of days it started acting like turbo would loose all boost and then come right back almost like i am turning key on and of real fast, and it seems to be worst when the motor is up to operating temp for a while and almost gone when truck is cold. any sugestions??????????

the most common leak point is the connection between the ypipe and the turbo, makes a hissing sound, sometimes/and the easiest/ you have to loosen the 2 uppipes at the exhaust manifolds then make your connection to the turbo, after that is lined up perfect and tight then you can retighten the uppipes at manifolds. that leak will cause you to loose drive pressure and cause a sudden loss of boost.

thanks i will do that tomorrow

definatly sounds like some sort of exhaust leak that spools the turbo. I"m thinking that your old turbo was not the problem but instead an exhaust leak at the "ram horns" or the feed from the exhaust from the headers/manifold to the piping that goest to the turbo.

I"m still baffeled that we have no waste gate and I don't completely understand how this turbo works compared to a normal turbo? Eitherway, I would get a stethoscope tool and listen around the headers/manifold and all mating surfaces while the truck is running.

Let us know your results;)
