04 F250 6.0 cranks over wont start no codes

Truck was running fine but had a oil leak from oil cooler so i changed the oil cooler and i bought a new y pipe from sinister, installed that and put everything back toghether and it started for 5 sec and then died and now it wont start. Im getting fuel and oil into filter housing. i unplugged the ICP and still wont fire up. i cranked it for 10 min and then batterys died so i took the batterys to orileys had them tested and one was bad so i replaced one and charged them put them back in and cranked till they died again repeated a couple times and still nothing i checked all connections five times everything is plugged in. still will not start can some one please help me out.

can you view engine data? Need to check icp press while cranking, can you here injectors clicking? Did your oil press come up to normal in dash while cranking?

any theft light flashing?

kamakazi 03-07-2013 10:09 PM

No i only have the pocket scanner. yes u can here the injectors clicking, and ya my oil pressure comes up to normal. my buddy said that i prob have air in the fuel lines but i took the cap off the filter next to the oil filter and turned the key on and fuel poured out so i dont think i have air in the lines. the thing i dont get is that the truck fired up and sounded great but then it died out? and no theft lights it just cranks and all the lights on the dash light up as normal.

Did you replace fuel filters when u did the other stuff? what about the little ground wire that attaches to the intake bolt at back of engine near ficm?

kamakazi 03-08-2013 08:16 AM

No i didnt replace them because im getting fuel. should i still replace them even tho im getting fuel? and i made sure that was ground wire was attached.
:argh:

nah just thought you may have an air lock or the oring got messed up on bottom filter cap. Can you check fuel pressure? Ive had two instances where couldnt get one to start after put back together but started after I took the allen screw out of the top filter housing to check fuel pressure they started up fine, air lock I guess.

double check the 3 connectors of FICM, make sure they are snapped in. turn key on then loosen one of the fuel lines to the head, just enough to see fuel come out, then retighten, that will help it from being air locked.

hi I have same problem on my 2003 f250 difference is I went to put diesel on it shut it of and went back to start it and all it does is crank but no start I have a computer to diagnose and all my readings seem to be fine my icp goes up to 1400 psi my ipr IS 15% TO 85 % MY FCIM IS 42.7 TO 48.0 SO I WENT AHEAD AND TOOK IT APART TOOK HI PRESSURE PUMP OUT TO INSPECT THE O RINGS EVRYTHING WAS OK I REPLACED ALL O RING THE IPR VALVE AND I HAVE A 2005 F250 WHAT I DID TO TEST THE ICP I TOOK THE ICP SENSOR OF MY 03 AND STARTED MY 2005 SO I KNOW ITS GOOD I ALSO CHECKED THE LITTLE VALVE INSIDE THE OIL FILTER TO SEE IF IT WAS STUCK FOUND NOTHING WRONG WITH IT I CHECKED FOR PULSE ON INJECTORS AND FCIM SINCHRO AND CAM AND CRANCK SENSORS I REPLACED BATTERYS ALTERNATOR AND STARTER THIS TRUCK HAS ME GOING NUTS ANY IDEAS PLEASE HELP THANK YOU

you have to check ICP actual compared to ICP desired. I doubt you will have 1400 actual when cranking. If IPR is at %85 that tells me the actual ICP is low. these trucks need 500psi from the HPOP to start.
