hard start/no start
Have an 04 6.0 with 7 screw ficm.it tested at 48 volts.it starts fine when the block heater is plugged in.if started cold it takes awhile to Starr or it won't at all.if it starts cold it lopes for 10 minutes and smokes.any clue? While its running tho the ficm is 24
|
while it is running the FICM is only reading 24 volts?? if so then you need a new FICm or get the Bullet Proof Diesel half shell for it that will make it run alot better and will last forever, ad still be cheaper then brand new one. I like the 7 pin better then the 4 pin, they seem to run better and quiter.

Yep, the test procedure is to test it cold, while cranking, starting, running etc. As bobfbigman noted, yours FAILS. That was the first thing that broke on my 6.0 and the cheapest.

you can get it repaired
|
I beleive Ed at FICM repair is a site sponser, you send him your ficm and he repairs and upgrades it. Or for double the money you can get an aftermarket "half shell"(replaces the power supply, which is what goes wrong in these) around $500 from Bullet.
---AutoMerged DoublePost--- Don't try to resolder the board yourself if you want to use Ed @FICM repair, he'll charge more if someone's been attempting to repair it. That's only my opinion, if you want to take a chance, go for it. I tried to repair mine and just cost myself money. Good luck! |
I don't know if they repair 7pin or not, I think they only repair 4 pin, the bullet proof one is nice.
|
i can repair 7 pin its no big deal as long as the major components or board is not damaged
|
They fix 7pin. And bulletproof makes half shells for the 7 pin now too. What do you charge POWER STRUCK? Do you upgrade any components?

I didn't know to test it while running but my dad tested it as I was posting.he ordered one from swamp diesel with the 80hp upgrade
