clutch wont fully engage need help quick!

swapped my truck to a manual, put the clutch pedal in and the whole master clutch set up and i start the truck, push in the clutch and it wont go into gear, but when i put it in gear and start the truck with the clutch in its half engaged and sort of goes forward. when i push in the clutch and look at the fork going in and out it looks like thr slave isnt getting full range of motion... tried rebleeding it and same crap...

Man, I'm not terribly familiar with the clutch setups on these, as I've never really had my hands on one, but I remember with my rangers the master cylinder had to come off of the truck and be bled on the bench, as it was on the truck it would never get all of the air out properly. Sounds like that's part of your problem.

need to bleed the slave cylinder off the truck, there is an air pocket that wont get fluid. another brilliant ford engineer.....:bat:

also need to bench bleed the master cylinder on changeover much like you do the master cylinder on the brakes. I would try that first, much easier than pulling slave cylinder.

I did... Well took the slave off the truck but everything else is still on the truck. I sat under the truck with the slave and bled the hell out of it. There isn't any other way to bleed it is there? There isn't any bleed screws or anything...

Like I thought and like he said, it has to come off of the truck to do, it almost has to be done upside down or something ridiculous if I remember. Try searching on youtube for it, I know that's where my buddy found out how to do it properly. He had a garage replacing both his slave and master cylinders, had all sorts of problems with aftermarket units too, ended up getting all new Ford parts and bench bleeding everything and it was fine after. He actually had to show the youtube video to the garage to get it right.

I only did one slave cylinder a long time ago had the same problem, finally got pissed off and just submerged the whole thing in brake fluid and then bled it while it was under the 2 full wuarts of brake fluid, it was messy as hell but it worked.:argh::argh::argh:
