Hey all ok this is what's goin on I have a 03 f250 6.0 I'm drivin down the highway and losses power don't want to go Any faster and sometimes slows down so my friend suggested fuel filters so I changed them now what it's doin is it pick up and take off the just drop and it does it constantly until I hit about 65 and it won't go anymore and I noticed a trans bolt is stripped out and it's leakin fluid so another question is can low fluid make the truck do that because at take off it takes a second to shift any replays will be greatly appreciated this is my first diesel and no nothing about them...and about a month Go injector pump was replaced and about 2 or 3 weeks Ago hpop was replaced by dealer thx again.

To start with, what does the transmission dipstick say? Not the part about the fluid to use on the top, how much fluid is in the transmission. If it needs filled, SP is the answer! Your local parts house should have it, the dealer will rape you for it.

I strongly recommend hooking up a scanner to retrieve codes. These aren't exactly high maintenance, but benign neglect is the biggest killer to these trucks.

Where is this trans bolt stripped out? Are you sure it's leaking from that bolt or somewhere else? In this case, pics would be VERY helpful.

your transmission's loss of fluid can cause your "loss of power"..

A transmission uses fluid pressure to active clutch packs inside of your drums, its kind of like you letting off the clutch to go in a manual.

If there is a short of fluid, , or not fluid, it will just simply slip or not go at all..

And no matter if your rich or just like to blow money, do not buy the expensive transmission fluid from your parts store or ford, they are dumb a**es..

BUY DEX/MERC MIX... I personally guarantee your transmission will work perfectly with that fluid just as it would with Ford "Special" fluid.

What's an injector pump? The fuel pump? These trucks don't have a high pressure fuel pump so to speak, what they do have is the HPOP, which is an oil pump and it's what drives the fuel pressure up.

I would also check the trans fluid level, very likely the cause. I agree, pics would help a ton! Also more info and background on the truck. Check the link at the top of the page about asking tech questions, will help you and us.:c:

Mercon SP or Mercon LV are the only fluids recommended for the 5R110. LV is the new one, it replaces the SP. It's really not that expensive... and it doesn't have to be purchased from Ford.

Forgive me if I sound synical, but what conclusive proof do you have? I just dropped $2000 on a 5R110 transmission and it was no picnic to install, esp being a 4x4. So it's going to take more than someone's opinion to put something OTHER than what is recommended by the MANUFACTURER. Do you know why I use old school Type F in the C-4 in my 1967 Mustang? Because Hughes Transmission (the guys that built it) said to!

$5/qt at 17 qts to make sure my clutches don't take a dump is ok with me.

Hey thanks everyone I just was able to get on I figured out whatnot was I had a buddy take a look it was the banks six gun wiring harness for ther map sensor we took it out and plugged factory plug back in and it's doin great as far as the stripped blot it was just a pan bolt we thru some silicone on it and its doin fine also if I have any more issues I will post it everything's greatly appreciated.
