Oil Pan Gasket

While changing the oil I noticed my oil pan gasket appears to be leaking. Is this just a simple straight forward job of pulling the pan and changing the gasket orrrrrr is it one of those job where the motor mounts need to be loosened and the engine jacked up?

Thanks in advance for the replies

Where is it leaking from? Mine leaks from the rear and I can't tell if it's the motor or the transmission.

Have you tried tightening all of the fasteners? It could just be a loose bolt or two.

As with any pan gasket change, the more access you have the better.I know the pan isn't exactly on the cross member, but that space can become very small when you have to r&r a gasket.

The pan gaskets are the reusable rubber type with metal inserts to prevent crushing the gasket, try giving them all a snug first, alot of times you just see the oil that may have come from glow plug gaskets that are failing, Also the oil on back is ofter caused fron ICP sensor failures on 03-04 trucks.

It is from the back. I will get under there and torque everything. Truck has 179,xxx and it original gasket that is why I thought gasket.
