6.0 With A Problem

I've got a buddy with a 2005 F350 Auto tranny 4x4. Filled it up with fuel, fired up, put it in gear, nothin happened. Sat there for around fifteen seconds, then as if the tranny caught it went on. He went on for a couple days thinking it was a fluke. Then on a jobsite he went to start it up, nothing, just crank crank crank, no fire. Got it towed the dealership, it fired there like normal. Service rep said he drove sixty five miles today and nothing. No check engine lights or nothing. I don't want him to get on a jobsite and get stuck again. I'd hate to have to go pull him with the dodge.:poak:

ok

Does it seem like it only does it after a hot soak? We need to get the codes checked by a CAN capable code reader, not like the autozone crap. See if it has any ICP codes in it. '05's are notorius for the quick connect wearing loose on the HPOP.

I'll ask him later on about the heatsoak bit. I asked him if a check engine light was on, he said no. I'm not sure if they checked for codes or not.

Heck

It would blow your mind what could happen with these things and not set a cel. You dont have to have a cel to set the light. I've seen up to 8 codes without a cel once.

well, I'll ask him if they checked the codes in it. supposed to talk to him later tonight

Whats up Phil ?

Well, before I could get him to tell them to read the codes it was out, now some D.A. 7.3 guy is trying to tell him it's the CPS. Isn't the CPS basically a 7.3 issue, not a 6.0? It's going in tomorrow to have the cps replaced (under warranty) I told them to have them read the codes.

CPS

The only CPS problems with the 6.0 are the orings leak and make it look like a bed plate leak.:U:

That's what I was thinking that the 7.3 was just trying to be helpful, oh well, at least strokers helping strokers.
