CCV reroute

Im tierd of having oil in my intercooler pipes:dang:. Has anybody done the oil catcher or just run a hose right under the truck to let it drain there? Thanks

It can be done either way. Some guys have also plumbed it into the exhaust system so it burns off in there, but you need to angle the fitting correctly so it's not pushing boost pressure back in, but it scavenges instead.

If I drop it under the truck will it smoke much? I dont want my truck to look like its on fire. I've heard of guys with 6.4s complaining about that.

It shouldn't... it really only has oil coming out. There shouldn't be any reason for smoke to be coming out of the CCV, unless you've got a ton of blow by or something.... Most just run a rubber line down and add a filter to the end of it.

Do u happen to know what kind of filter, and what do you use to plug the hole in the intake?

I rerouted mine in front of the front axle, and utilized the factory fittings. I used 1" heater hose for the extension. I then plugged the hole in the hose between the turbo and air filter.

Mine looks like it's on fire, but the old girl is tired.

I used the catch can method but only because i wanted to. Works great and no smell of oil near the truck.

Can you elaborate a little, I just don't want oil dripping on the ground. Thanks

Some guys run a catch can from TSC with a screen filter. There are a couple write-ups on the org

Since I am back into this engine for other reasons, I figured I'd take a snap of my home made, cost efficient CCV reroute.
