Guys... he doesn't have a contribution code for #8, just a glow plug. Sounds like the problem injectors are 3 and 4, and they're on opposite banks. They are also not on the same wire harness coming from the FICM.

DB's Is a great community, I really appreciate the input and replies I have received. I do believe I have two bad injectors, at least one or more cracked injector cups contributing to the fuel in coolant, and will utilize the rev-x at the next oil change.
Shopping list- Complete o ring and crusher washer set from Ford Two injectors from Ford New degas bottle and cap During the repair I will install the Edge Juice controller (it has been on the shelf in the garage for 7 years) add the edge CTS display module The 4" turbo back exhaust I have ( no cat) Fluids change and add the rev-x Unfortunately, i will not get to this task until after the new year, however I will post , my findings and results. Other than bulletproofing.... Anything I missed?:ty: |
You really need to monitor the coolant, what is in it? if it if diesel fuel then I think you are going to find it is a cracked head and not just an injector cup. the fuel goes through a passage in the heads to feed the injectors and if it cracks in this passage then fuel can get into the coolant because the fuel pressure is higher then the coolant pressure.

I don't think that the old Edge Juice will be compatible with the CTS.
But if you call them there might be a trade up deal. |

i'm back, been a few days. anyway, I went to a recommended local shop to get an "estimate" on head gasket job on my truck. The estimate was "book time". I suspect this to be standard for a shop or dealer service center, but ( there is always a butt), It rasies my curiosity if book time is cab off, or cab on. in my research i have found to many articles with people claiming "3 jobs a week", or "i've done hundreds of these". they stated book time @ 30 hours. plus parts. for total job. is book the time with cab on? they quote and charge book time and then do actual time by removing cab sticking it to the customer? any of you guys out there here of this practice? or do it this way? are my suspicions even close? i totally understand making profit. is't profit factored into the shop rate? BTW , i think that may have forced me to make the decision to tackle this myself. I have checked into the ARP studs, Black Onx gaskets, o-ring, crush washers, replace bad injectors, oil cooler, egr delete, followed fluids change and the Rev -X oil and fuel additives, coolant filter. HEADS will be thoroughly inspected, injector cups will be replaced.
i have a good line on a lift, for cab removal and a location to install it (my buddy's shop). my neighbors would not like it in m back yard. |
