time to do it up good. Need advice on turbo, trans, injectors, etc.

Hey guys. Mods so far are listed in my sig. ARP head studs and OEM gaskets being done. Now my truck was dyno'd by LMT at one of their pay $60 bucks and they'll dyno your truck. I don't have the spec sheet in front of me but i do know that some dyno's can be off by almost 100hp at times. Im guessing my truck is right around 450-500hp range and 825-875ft. tq. Unfortunately the 5R110 can only hold so much and she's starting to shift hard. Ive convinced myself to go big or go home and am aiming at doing 190cc-225cc injectors, a bigger turbo, lift pump, intake manifold, and yes, the extremely expensive transmission and torque converter as well as input shafts, the whole 9 yards. I am really curious to suggestions on what you guys would recommend as far as performance brands. Ive looked at sun coast, BD Diesel, ATS, and some others (as far as transmissions) and the websites all claim race, pulling, street applications but i would like to know what kind of horsepower these things hold. I don't wanna spend thousands of dollars just to blow something up. So PLEASE! POST UP! Share the do's and donts, whats good whats bad. I want to build this truck up right. Not planning on pulling it, definitely planning on taking it to the drag strip. Thanks guys!! :c:

You've got a custom tuned 6.0... so like everyone else you're probably in the 420-430 rwhp range, just like your sign suggests.

What are you doing for air to match the fuel when you go big on the sticks?

A stock trans should hold everything you're throwing at it right now and even if you went to 190's... I'd probably still stick with the stocker to see how long it would hold.

ATS is probably the worst in the business. They have a terrible customer service track record, and I've heard nothing but horror stories getting anything warrantied there and a lot of broken transmissions. I haven't personally tried them, but I wouldn't even think of trying them.

Suntoast? Eh....

NADP is probably one of the best. BTS is also good, known for their 4R100 experience, but Brians warranty is unbeatable. Some of the other big names in the business are Elite obviously, Twisted Diesel is a new up comer that is building some good transmissions. I feel like there is someone close in WI that does them too... I'll have to think on that. RCD (river city diesel) also has a really nice billet converter out now for the 5R110, very nice unit. PI (precision industries) also makes great converters for our trucks.

The stock units are pretty stout with good tuning. They have a triple disc converter factory already.

The 5R's are holding 550ish rwhp behind the 6.4's without much issue... so take that into consideration.

You can also upgrade to the 08 5r110 trans pan and filter assembly, it's probably around $100 to do and has a way better filtration system than the stock "screen" in our trucks. I just ordered one myself. I'm also throwing in a GoGo direct drive improved solenoid at the same time, supposed to really help that shift to direct drive (5th gear).

Good to know, i was interested in the Elite Diesel Tranny's I've heard a lot of good things about them. this whole project is still up in the air, i want to get it done right the first time. Still a lot of things on my mind before i approach it head on. in some sense for a daily driver i think it may almost be smarter to just push closer to 500hp and call it a day. if i did a lift pump and 190's i have no idea what kinda increases I'm looking at

There is a shop in Oregon (the one that I talked to about doing a 6.4 swap into the drag truck) with a 7-800RWHP 6.4 backed by a 5R110 (their motto is "We push parts to failure so you don't have to"), that transmission is stronger than people think, just because it's a stock available unit doesn't mean that it can't handle some abuse

RCD sells pretty much an upgrade kit with turbo/injectors/Air Dog 2 and supporting equipment is 2 forms, a 65mm Powermax with 155cc sticks (able to support 500+) and a 68mm Powermax with 180cc sticks (able to support 600+).

190's can flow a ton of fuel, but being on a stock charger, your tuner is going to pull fuel out of them. If you don't plan on upgrading the charger, going that big on the injector is a waste of money, you will never get the full potential out of it. Go with a 155 if you don't want to upgrade air.

You will need at least a pump and a fuel pressure gauge. A sump wouldn't hurt and a regulated return would be ideal as well.
