intake air temp?

when i crank my tuck in the mornings the iat gauge and the ect are the same after driveing for awhile the ect is 182 and the IAT is 100 is this normal

Are you monitoring this on something?

If the truck sits for a while it would make sense that the coolant temp would be close to the ambient temp outside.... and obviously as the engine warms up, coolant temp rises, but the temp of the motor isn't going to make the outside air as hot as the motor itself...

Sounds normal to me. No real need to monitor IAT (intake air temperature)

was looking at my programmer gauges was just curious about this one

What device are you using to read IAT??

Using a Edge Insight the IAT is measured at the intake filter. Seeing 100* while driving is a tad high over OAT.

edge evolution. what would be causeing this

Causing what? I'm sure the under hood heat raises the temp the sensor sees a bit. What do you think is out of place here? It's a useless thing to monitor anyways.
