question own blue springs
 

I have finally got my truck straightened out and was wanting to do another small upgrade. I have been seeing people talking about installing blue springs. I'm running a edge evolution programmer own a 04 6.0 it has stock injectors is this something worth doing if so does the ford dealership sell it. also does it do anything to the mpg

I haven't noticed any mpg gains personally, but I have a hard time keeping my foot out of it. You could order it from the stealership if you want (if they have it) but you'll likely pay more. I got mine from Clay at Riff-Raff Diesel. You will notice the ol' girl has a little more pep on acceleration...nothing like going from stock to a programmer, but it will compliment even a stock truck

You can buy the kit with or with out the cover. You don't need the cover. In fact I am not so sure you need to swap out all of the O-rings.

It's a little cheaper without the cover. Strictly Diesel has them.

You don't, all of those are if you are doing a complete housing rebuild. Think I only used 3. If/when you order it, do it the same time you do your fuel filters and use a turkey baster to get all of the fuel out of the housing or you will end up with a mess. Super easy mod, only thing that is faster is installing a coolant filter

This is one of the upgrades that can save your injectors, while you are working right in that area it would be a good time to get the adaptor that replaces the plug right next to the regulator so you can add a fuel pressure guage, another very important mod to save the injectors because anything below 55psi can hurt the injector. I had 38psi when I thought my pump was good, after a new pump install it is right at 62psi.

installed blue spring today very easy application sitting at ideling I can notice the truck's engine is quiter would like to get a fuel pressure gauge i have my programmer own a dash pod what is a nice gauge and mount that would go with that for a reasonable price. thanks guys for all the input hopefully will be able to return some advice one day

Mounting is your choice, some people (like myself) prefer the look of analog gauges around, others, however, don't like the feel of a 747 cockpit and go with a single monitoring computer. We can all give you different opinions but in the end it comes down to what you want since you are the one driving the truck not us. As far as gauge selection goes, you get what you pay for. I try to encourage people to steer away from the real cheapos like GlowShift, but that doesn't mean you have to go and spend $250/gauge. I love my ISSPROs, and everyone that I know that has them loves them. Look around a bit and see what fits your style.

The blue spring is the new fuel pressure regulator spring to make sure you have proper fuel pressure, most of the stock springs produced too low of a pressure. new spring should produce right around 60psi, low pressure can damage injectors sow a guage is a great idea too.
