Hydrolocked 6.0l

Last weekend I put 8 new injectors in my 2003 ford. I started it after putting it together and it ran good. I took it out and drove it down the rode and it all of a sudden lost power and dead. Then it wouldn't crank over at all. I popped the hood and steam boiled out from behind the motor that reaked of raw fuel. I believe it is hydrolocked. Please help!:td:

What kind of help are you looking for here?

Pull the glow plugs out and crank it over. Where did you get the injectors from? Were they torqued down to spec? Most go a little higher than spec, as they tend to loosen up. Could just be one cylinder having issues, could be multiple. I'd start with pulling the glow plugs and cranking it and see which hole the fuel comes out of.

Hydrolocked 6.0l

Got my injectors from diesel power products and they were reman Bosch injectors. Does this sound like the problem that it was hydrolocked?

Well if it's full of fuel then yeah, can you pinpoint where the fuel is coming from? Reman Bosch? Bosch never made 6.0 injectors... Hmmmm. They list quite a few different remans, which ones did you get exactly? Usually a 6.0 injector wont spill fuel like that unless a nozzle is cracked. Reman means a few different things depending on who you ask. Some of them literally slap on new external o-rings, while others actually rebuild them. OEM Ford remans are the only remans I'd personally buy, since they also come with a 12k mile/12 month warranty.

I will pull glow plugs sometime soon and inspect the injectors. I read somewhere that sometimes the copper o-rings from the old injectors will stick in the bowl. So I will check for that and cracked tips.

I fixed the problem. I pulled the glow-plugs one by one until I found the cylinder that had hydrolocked. Then I pulled the valve cover off and the injector bolt was loose. So I pulled the injector and the copper washer and the bottom o ring were ruined. I talked to a mechanic and he said that those injectors won't seat right sometimes when you tighten them. So he said tap on the top of them with a hammer and then re-torque them. Did this to all injectors just to make sure. Put it all back together and it was all fine. It runs great now better than when I bought it. Thanks for all the help!

Glad you got it fixed, and thanks for posting back what it was!:c:
