SCT tuner

Can any one tell me. I'm looking at a what they say is a SCT fs3 part# 3015. But it has bama performance labeling on it with the SCT logo on the bottom. Is it the same as one directly from SCT. It is used but is unmarried with 5 unlocks left on it.

It's just an SCT with some companies logo printed on it. Innovative does the same thing. When you get it, just get your own tunes for it. As long as the truck it came off of was returned to stock, and it has some unlocks left, you're good to go.

thanks for the help. I just went ahead and got a SCT sf3. Getting ready to order gagues what shoud I go with? Analog type or a digital monitor like a insight. any suggestions?

Digital gauges (monitor) will be your best bet. You will be able to monitor more, read/clear codes and depending on which one, will let you data log.

You have some choices depending on your wallet.

The DashBoss for iOS devices (iPad,iPhone,iTouch). This will monitor everything needed thru the OBDII, and allow you to add external sensors like EGT and fuel psi right on your iOS device. Price is $170 for DashBoss OBDII, EGT probe & amp $100, and fuel psi sensor $30. That puts you at $300 for everything. Let's you read/clear codes and data log.

There is the Edge Insight CS/CTS that can also monitor everything on one unit. Read/clear codes and data log. XPD diesel has them on sale right now. The CS is $254 and CTS $339. Now add in the cost for the EAS Expandable EGT cable $135 and Fuel psi $135. This will put you in for everything on the CS $524. The CTS with everything $609. I believe XPD is having a sale on the EGT and FP, so you might save a couple bucks.

The ScangaugeII will read everything thru OBDII except EGT and FP. You will need to buy seperate analog gauges and pods for those two. Price varies depending where you buy, $126-$165 just for the ScangaugeII. Then buy decent analog gauges.

Innovatives #3015ID is only for the 7.3 and 6.0. They erase all the other ford makes (mustang, focus, explorer) off a SF3 and load in Innovatives custom/canned tunes, but only for the 7.3/6.0.

Myself, I would have went with a new SCT livewire touch screen! They look awesome! They also have some pretty cool features that I'm not sure the others have, like a max boost recall function etc... pretty nice looking.

Gauges are up to you which way to go. I prefer stand-alone, but it's more of a preference thing. The Edge CTS and the SCT TS are both pretty nice looking.

SCT makes the best tuners for the money and Innovative is the best out-of-the-box custom tuner.(my preference but I speak from experience) I have had bully dog and banks both are mpore expensive and you cant get gale or anyone to give you their secret tunes like Inno will. As for gauges I run 6 fully independent needle style with 4 on my A pillar and 2 more on my steering column.

Even if you could talk to someone at Banks or Bullydog about better tuning, their "tuners" aren't capable. The software isn't there. They're not even real tuners, they're more like "foolers" that trick the truck into adding more fuel and more ICP.

tuners vs foolers

I agree. Do it right the first time. TUNE it properly and reap the rewards. do it wrong and pay the price.
