Gauge inputs
 

I was wondering where to tap into to get good readings for EOT, ECT and oil psi. Depending on cost, I am considering buying some Sport Comp gauges for my truck.

EOT you can just get one of those billet oil filter caps, coolant there's a few different ways to do it, use a T in the line somewhere, or I believe mine even came with fittings that thread into the block where a freeze plug would be too. When you say oil psi are you talking low pressure or high pressure?

Billet flashy, Mongo like flashy. :rock: I suppose with some AN fittings and braided line I could plumb it to an electric sending unit (I'm not big on mechanical gauges anymore).

While it seems extreme to drop a freeze plug, it would provide a good place to get a temp. I think I'll research when the OEM sensor is, maybe tap in there some how. Again, I prefer an electric gauge.

Yes, low oil psi. Kinda on the fence about that one, though. It's not the greatest, but there is one in the dash. As many crankshafts as I have ruined in my Mustang and Jeana's truck, even an OEM psi gauge can pick up that pressure fluxuation.

The OEM low oil pressure "gauge" on the dash I believe comes up as long as it hits something stupid like 5psi.

Doesn't your scangauge read this stuff? The ECT and EOT temp sensors are pretty accurate, it's just the gauges on the dash they're hooked to suck.

I never really looked into the coolant one at all because mine will just get spliced in to my lines going to my vegistroke, so it was never a big deal.

I found the attachment from Amsoil, it's the plastic cap. Any thoughts there? The billet ones are over $100, I found a red one to match the truck for $119. Any thoughts using the existing one? It doesn't leak.

The SGII is ok, but I figured, "What the hell, I don't have a $350 truck payment eating my bum anymore."

I've heard of people tapping the plastic ones, haven't heard anything bad.

Yeah, they used to be $100... I think I'm going to buy some myself. Heard horror stories of the plastic caps cracking and breaking during maintenance... that'd be all I'd need.
