fuel filter

I was replacing my fuel filter today took 6m drain plug out fuel did not stop coming out seemed like about half gallon.I put the drain plug back because it did not stop.It seemed like way to much.Is there a issue?::argh:

Might have just got a bad batch of fuel some where with a lot of water in it... I usually get a fair amount of of there. 1/2 gallon sounds about right. I doubt there's an issue, I'd let it drain honestly. What fuel filters are you using? Hopefully Ford/International...

Did you change the upper filter first? if not it will act like a siphon and keep dumping fuel out the drain

I always do my bottom one first, never even gave that a thought.

I've used Amsoil oil filters in the past, they seem good. For fuel filters... I'd still stick with Motorcraft/International personally, but I haven't heard ANYTHING about Amsoil fuel filters. Some of the aftermarket fuel filters don't have the water membrane on them to fully separate the water properly.
