No acceleration at low speeds

I have a 2006, F250 FWD, 6.0 that is bone stock. Occasionally, it will not accelerate from a slow speed, such as coming off a red light. It is very intermittant and has only done it 3 times in the last 6 months. I took it to a local mechanic who scanned the computer and found codes P0299 and P0500. He cleared the codes and could not duplicate the problem. I was told that the EGR valve could be the problem, so I replaced it with no help, (it was replaced between two of the failures, so I know it didn't fix the problem). There was nothing done to the truck before any of the failures, and it was empty and not pulling a load. On one of the failures, the motor died. The check engine light does not come on and there is no smoke, noise, or anything noticeably abnormal. The truck will start up normally and run fine after the event.

Possibly turbo needs to be cleaned. Check the FICM and make sure batteries are good. This happened to me and found my turbo was sticking and my egr valve was dirty. had ford clean the turbo and cleaned the egr myself.

I would also recommend cleaning the EPB sensor and tube too, you can find it coming up out of the drivers side exhaust manifold.

Thank you, Gentlemen. That gives me a place to start.

Id start with cleaning the turbo like already mentioned, but the lag on these is pretty pronounced anyways you dont get much ooomph til 2500rpm anyway.

DTCs aside, my 2003 was really soggy down low (short of a two-footed boost launch) until I deleted my EGR cooler and got an SCT with custom tunes. Low end is mucho bettero now. In fact, I needed a set of Pro Comp traction bars (see thread in 6.0 Performance section) to keep the 315 BFGs from boiling.
