2006 F350 runs rough

I have a 2006 F350 with the 6.0L
long story short, it starts fine, idles fine, but hesitates and almost sounds like it has a miss during acceleration. It has had a turbo underboost code for probably the last 6-8 months.
I've been advised to remove and clean the turbo, but before doing that, thought I would check and see what you all thought about it.

Sounds like it is indeed time to clean the turbo. It's a good starting point, and certainly wont hurt anything if it doesn't fix your issues. May also want to clean the EGR valve and the EPB sensor and tube too.

yeah that's kinda what i figured.
which leads me to my next question

I'm strongly considering do the EGR delete for this, so what brand should I go with, and how dificult is this to do?

Being 100% honest I would rate myself as a 8 of 10 for tech skills on diesel trucks.
I work on John Deere tractors everyday at the dealershhip, so is this something I should be able to do myself?

Thanks again,
John

Yes, it's not a difficult job at all, just very time consuming. My first couple took me over 12 hours, but I was going slow and cleaning a lot of parts as I went, doing beer breaks and whatever else. Definitely will want an extra set of hands around for it though. Some of the shops say they can do them in 4 hours or so, but I don't see myself ever getting to that point.

As for brand, there's a few different styles, brand isn't terribly important. You can get a full delete kit with a solid up-pipe on ebay now for just a hair over $100 for no name stuff. For name brand anywhere from $150-$300. They're basically all the same, so just pick whatever one you like the looks of haha. I got my river city diesel one on there a while back for $185 shipped.

Ok we'll see, ha
Does the kit generally come with install diresctions?

Yeah it's pretty straightforward really, just really time consuming. You'll have body parts that will be sore that you didn't know existed. Most of the time is spent laying on top of the motor haha.

Knowing what I know now, I would also pull the inner fender on the passenger side to get easier access to the up-pipe bolts, most of the instructions I've seen don't tell you this.

Alright thanks for the advice
